Keep your cards safe, flat, and pristine for decades
A penny sleeve (soft poly sleeve) is the first line of defence. Slide the card in carefully, holding it by the edges. Never force a card into a tight sleeve — it can crease corners.
For cards worth $10+, use a rigid top loader (3×4 inch). Place the sleeved card inside the top loader. Do not tape the top loader closed — tape residue can damage the card.
For raw cards in PSA 9+ condition or cards worth $50+, use a one-touch magnetic holder. These display the card beautifully and protect against dust, fingerprints, and pressure.
Binders with pocket pages are fine for base cards and low-value sets, but pages can shift and cause edge wear. Never store valuable cards in a binder long-term.
Store cards at 18–22°C (65–72°F) with 40–50% humidity. Basements and attics are dangerous — temperature swings cause warping and humidity causes mould. A closet in a climate-controlled room is ideal.
UV light fades card borders and photos within months. Store cards in a dark drawer, box, or cabinet. Never display cards in direct sunlight, even behind glass.
Standing cards upright causes them to bend and warp over time. Always store cards flat in a box or case. Use card boxes (shoebox-style or BCW storage boxes) for organized flat storage.
